We eliminate distances with digital technology

Borghi Connessi is Wind Tre's sustainability project that aims to support the growth of small Italian municipalities by promoting greater inclusion in Internet access and helping to reduce the country's territorial, economic, cultural, and demographic digital divide.

The initiative stands out for its integrated approach, combining technological innovation, training, social inclusion, and territorial enhancement, with the aim of making Italian villages not only more connected, but also more livable, attractive, and resilient.

Our partners

The project draws on a network of strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Associazione Borghi più Belli d'Italia (Association of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages), the Associazione Italiana Nomadi Digitali (Italian Association of Digital Nomads), Riabitare l'Italia (Reinhabiting Italy), and ASviS, with which it contributed to the drafting of the Territori 2024 Report. At national events, such as the Festival dei Borghi più Belli d'Italia, the project has also promoted the use of its data analytics systems for the development of sustainable tourism.

The initiative, created by Wind Tre in 2021, aims to bridge the digital divide that still penalizes many local communities, contributing to more sustainable, inclusive, and informed development through various areas of intervention:

- Training on new technologies for citizens of all ages, small businesses, and public administration;

- Development of services dedicated to the community, such as those designed to attract smart workers from around the world;

- Consultancy on technological needs, providing assurance on the choice of the best solutions;

- Assistance to entrepreneurs and small traders to contribute to the secure management of digital technology and the growth of their businesses.

One of the initiatives is the Accademia Borghi Connessi (Connected Villages Academy). Aimed at public administrators, the Academy promotes awareness of emerging technologies and digital solutions that can improve the quality of life in small towns, both from an environmental and social point of view, through seminars, webinars, and round tables. At the same time, the NeoConnessi Silver project extends training to the over-60s, with in-person courses designed to promote safe and informed use of the internet and digital devices.

"Our company works on specific training projects aimed at entrepreneurs and local administrators, but also at young people and seniors. In fact, with the NeoConnessi Silver project, WINDTRE provides the elderly people of the village with advice and useful tools to make access to web services easier and to prepare people for the challenges of digitalisation".
